The Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association (WMBA), in partnership with Elevate, has announced the return of the WMBA x ELEVATE 3x3 Youth Summer League for July and August 2026, bringing fast-paced outdoor basketball, elite skill development, and flexible summer programming opportunities to youth across Winnipeg.

Designed for players ages 8-17, the program combines the excitement of 3x3 basketball with high-level coaching from university and professional athletes, creating an engaging environment focused on player development, confidence, and fun.

The league will operate at multiple outdoor community court locations throughout Winnipeg, including Garden City, Corydon, Whyte Ridge, Dakota, Oxford Heights, and Kirkfield Westwood Community Centres.

The WMBA x ELEVATE 3x3 Summer League continues to grow as one of Winnipeg’s premier summer basketball development opportunities, offering athletes a chance to stay active, sharpen their skills, and compete in a flexible format that works for families during the busy summer months.

Players will benefit from the unique advantages of the internationally recognized 3x3 game format, which promotes more ball touches, faster decision-making, increased offensive opportunities, and greater player involvement throughout every game.

League organizers noted that the program emphasizes both development and accessibility, with no team practices required and flexible attendance options available for families managing vacations and summer schedules.

Program highlights include:

  • 40% more touches, shots, passes, and decision-making opportunities
  • Fast-paced half-court 3x3 gameplay
  • Elite skills training sessions led by experienced athletes and coaches
  • Balanced team creation with WMBA-provided coaches
  • Teams consisting of 4-6 players to maximize participation
  • Outdoor summer basketball atmosphere at community-based courts across Winnipeg

Key dates for the 2026 season include:

  • Registration Deadline: Friday, June 26, 2026
  • Skill Sessions Begin: Tuesday, July 7, 2026
  • Game Nights Begin: Wednesday, July 8, 2026
  • Playoffs: Wednesday, August 19, 2026 (weather permitting)

Outdoor court locations include:

  • Dakota Community Centre — 1188 Dakota Street
  • Whyte Ridge Community Centre — 170 Fleetwood Road
  • Kirkfield Westwood Community Centre — 165 Sansome Avenue
  • Corydon Community Centre — 1170 Corydon Avenue
  • Oxford Heights Community Centre — 359 Dowling Avenue East
  • Garden City Community Centre — 725 Kingsbury Avenue

The full league registration fee is $210 per player and includes:

  • Reversible WMBA x ELEVATE jersey
  • Seven weeks of skill sessions and games
  • Playoff tournament participation
  • Championship shirts and medals
  • Coaching, game management, and media content coverage

A Skills-Only option is also available for $175 per player. Players in the 10U boys and girls divisions may register for Tuesday skill sessions only, while older athletes interested exclusively in skills training may contact WMBA directly for registration assistance.

Participants register individually, with the option to request teammates during registration. WMBA will build balanced teams and provide coaches for all groups.

Peg City Basketball has announced that registration is now open for its 2026 summer season, offering Winnipeg basketball players and teams a competitive senior basketball experience from July to September.

The Peg City Summer League combines competitive intensity with a laid-back summer basketball atmosphere, featuring organized league play, full standings, playoffs, player awards, rivalries, and a championship finish. The league is designed for teams and individual players looking for structured, high-energy basketball throughout the summer months.

The 2026 season will run from July to September, with games scheduled Sunday through Thursday. No games will be scheduled on Fridays or Saturdays. Venues will include the Sport for Life Centre, Dakota Fieldhouse, University of Winnipeg, and MBCI.

Each registered team will receive 10 free custom team jerseys. The league also includes full statistics, automatic highlight clips, official MABO referees, organized scheduling, playoffs, player awards, and championship energy throughout the season.

Team registration is $1,850 per team, while free agent registration is available for $190 per player. Players can register as part of a full team or individually as free agents.

Spots are limited, and divisions are expected to fill quickly. Teams that secured early registration will also receive a unique discount code to return at last summer’s rate.

The Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association (WMBA) has announced that registration for the 2026 Spring Community League will open on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

 


Central Plains Basketball Club has announced that registration is now open for its Spring League for community-based teams in the 13U to 18U age categories (Grades 7 to 12) from the Portage la Prairie region of Manitoba.

The Spring League season will run from April to June 2026. The cost is $180 per player. The registration deadline is March 13, 2026.

Peg City Basketball has announced that registration is now open for Adult League Spring 2026, which returns for another competitive season.  Operated by Peg City Basketball, the Spring Adult League is designed for adult athletes seeking structured, high-level recreational basketball in a professionally managed league environment.


Peg City Basketball has announced the launch of the CBL Spring Target Score Series for 11U to 18U club teams, running April to May 2026, with playoffs and championships in June 2026.

Basketball Manitoba is proud to support the second season of the Inner City Basketball League (ICBL), a free, inclusive basketball initiative serving youth across Winnipeg’s core communities. The 2026 season has expanded significantly, now involving 500 participants from 32 inner-city schools (up from 20 schools), and will run over 20 full game days between January 19 and March 26, 2026, at the Sport Manitoba Courts.


The Philippine Basketball Association Winnipeg (PBA) has announced that registration is now open for its Fall/Winter Season 25, set to tip off in 2025. The new season will feature a wide range of divisions for players of all ages, offering opportunities for youth, adults, and the Filipino community to compete and grow through the game.  The deadline to register a team is November 2, 2025.

Families are encouraged to register early to secure their preferred Community Centre and program placement, as spots are expected to fill quickly.

Peg City Basketball has announced registration details for the 2025 Peg City Showcase, the premier circuit-based league designed for high-calibre club players aged 14U–17U. Team registration is open until Friday, September 12, 2025.

What is the Peg City Showcase?
For Parents/Players: The Peg City Showcase provides an elite platform for competitive club players to test their skills against top-level opposition. Athletes must first make a club team through tryouts, which typically begin mid-August.

For Clubs: The Showcase operates as a circuit league featuring three sessions, each with three games per team. Power rankings are created after each session and determine seeding for the single-elimination championship tournament. Every team is guaranteed nine regular season games plus playoffs.

Peg City Basketball has announced that team registration is now open for the Peg City Club Basketball League (CBL).

The Peg City CBL provides a premier competitive environment for middle school players (10U–13U) to develop their skills and prepare for advanced levels of play. Athletes must successfully try out and make a competitive club team to participate, with open tryouts typically beginning in mid-August.

For clubs, the CBL offers a structured platform with weekly competition against other independent club teams. Teams are guaranteed a minimum of 14 games (12 regular season, 2 playoff). Standings determine playoff seeding for the championship tournament, ensuring a fair and competitive progression.

The Winnipeg Basketball League has announced that registration is now open for the 2025-26 season. All games will be played at the Duckworth Centre, located at 400 Spence Street in Winnipeg.

The league offers Adult Men’s and Women’s divisions with options for all skill levels. The registration fee is $2,850 per team, plus a $150 default deposit. GST and insurance are included in the cost. Men’s divisions will compete Sunday through Thursday (with schedule requests accepted), while women’s divisions will play exclusively on Sundays.

Registration will close on Friday, September 12, 2025. Interested teams are encouraged to secure their spot before the deadline.

Peg City has announced details for the upcoming Fall/Winter Senior League, set to run from September 28, 2025, through March 22, 2026. The league offers Winnipeg players a premier basketball experience with 20 regular-season games plus playoffs, all played on Sundays.
