The Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association has announced details on its 20th season of community club basketball for children living in the greater Winnipeg area at the 5-18 age level.  There are no ‘tryouts’ for club basketball as we make as many teams in the area based on the number of players who register. Ages 5-7 will be part of the Jr NBA program and the 8-10 year olds will be in the Steve Nash Youth Basketball program.

The league offers both a Fall / Winter league which runs October through March and a Spring League from April to June.  Registration for each run in September and March respectively at participating community centres in the greater Winnipeg area.  The Club league holds its games weekends (traditionally teams ages 12 and under play Saturdays and ages 13+ run Sundays) along with one practice during the weeknights.
The WMBA is a city-wide league, so teams will be competing against other teams from around the city.  Attempts are made to keep games in a central location fair to all teams in the program.  Age divisions are set roughly every 1 to 2 years. Teams ages 7 and under in the Jr NBA Program and teams ages 8+ play in separate boys and girls leagues.  We are always looking for people to get involved at the league level as either a coach or an administrator.
