nearing its completion of a recent makeover and upgrade to its physical
location located on the second floor of the University of Winnipeg
Duckworth Centre. Two years ago, our Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame
adopted a plan to undergo some major renovations and improvements as
part of a new design plan. Most of that work has been completed. On
Tuesday, July 6 at 2:00 P.M. there will be an official opening to
celebrate the completion of the work and to give all members of our
basketball community a chance to check out the new additions.
The mission of the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame, which began in 1983, is to induct deserving players, builders, and teams into the Hall for their outstanding achievements in the sport of basketball in Manitoba, Canada, and the world, as well as to preserve and showcase the rich history of basketball in Manitoba. The Hall of Fame is located on the 2nd floor of the University of Winnipeg Duckworth Athletic Centre where it has been since it opened in 2001. We all can very proud in knowing that Manitoba is the only province in Canada with a permanent home for its Basketball Hall of Fame.
