In honor of Cyrus Lister who lost his battle with cancer last year, the UFCW Canada’s National Defense Fund has graciously donated $2000 in his name to the Manitoba Association of Basketball Officials and the development of referees in Manitoba. The NDF was established to help unionized workers through some difficult times (strikes and lockouts). Cyrus was a long time member of this association. This award honors his commitment and service. Cyrus was always concerned about helping younger officials develop and feel welcome in the referee associations. With this in mind the Lister family and MABO are offering the following to our MABO members...

Two x $500 scholarships to help with post secondary education.



Four x $250 awards to help officials develop and improve the officiating skill through camps or workshops.



One of the $500 scholarships will go to a 1st /2nd year student.  Two of the $250 awards will go to our beginning officials.  The other scholarship and awards are available to any MABO member.
