July 29, 2025 – WINNIPEG, MB – Basketball Manitoba congratulates all members of Team Manitoba heading to the 2025 Canada Summer Games in Newfoundland and Labrador, with a special spotlight on basketball athlete Kishi Folarin, proudly representing the sport at the formal announcement of the program earlier today.
Kishi was among seven athletes featured in the official Canada Games announcement photo (front right) and is part of the women's basketball team. The basketball events at the Canada Games will provide a crucial platform for some of the province’s top emerging athletes to showcase their skills, work ethic, and passion for the game.
The Games run August 8–25, 2025, with Manitoba sending a total of 374 athletes across all 19 sports (24 players from basketball). They are supported by 94 coaches and managers (6 from basketball), and 26 mission staff. Basketball has long been one of Manitoba’s strongest and most followed sports at the Canada Games, and this year’s team continues that legacy.
The full Team Manitoba walkout uniform for the Games is provided by Zueike Inc. and includes custom-designed apparel and accessories to unify and celebrate the province’s athletes as they take the national stage.
The Canada Summer Games are the highest level of competition for most young athletes in Canada and provide a springboard to future national team and professional opportunities. The basketball events in particular are heavily scouted by U SPORTS programs, Canada Basketball staff, and national-level evaluators.
