EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: BASKETBALL MANITOBA PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Basketball Manitoba is a not-for-profit organization responsible for developing and promoting the game of basketball throughout the province of Manitoba.  Basketball Manitoba is focused on developing athletes, coaches and officials. Currently, it employs three full-time people as its Executive Director, Technical Director and Program Coordinator, and other part-time or contract-based staff.  The Association is currently seeking applications for its Program Coordinator position.  


The Position:  We are seeking a full-time person to fill the Program Coordinator position.  This person will assist in the planning, developing and managing all aspects of the coach and referee certification & education programs, high-performance programming, provincial championships, special events, youth programming, financial management and office management.  This person is also responsible for working with the member leagues and associations and will report to the Executive Director of Basketball Manitoba.

The Candidate:  The successful candidate will possess an understanding of Basketball Manitoba programs, familiarity with the sport of basketball and an understanding of the provincial sport delivery system.  This position requires a high-energy person who is capable of multitasking and has good organizational, financial and planning skills.  Possession of excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to manage the organization's day-to-day activities is essential.  Required computer skills include familiarity with Google and other web-based productivity systems, email management, social media and other web-based applications.

Qualifications:  Either a related University or College degree, experience in sport administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations; must be able to provide an acceptable Criminal Record Check.  Basketball Manitoba is committed to providing a safe environment for all, especially minors. Salary:  Salary to commensurate with education and experience.
