The Breaking Barriers Basketball League (BBBL) has announced it will be back on the court on Jan 12th, 2022. The FREE basketball league targets males ages 15-27 and will operate out of the University of Winnipeg Axworthy RecPlex on Wednesday and Thursday evenings through to March.  First come first serve registration is now open online. See the poster for details. The deadline to register a team is January 5th or when space fills up.  


LEAGUE OVERVIEW

  • REGISTRATION FEE: FREE to all players thanks to our tremendous SUPPORTERS!

  • LEAGUE SIZE: The Winter 2022 league will involve up to 16 teams.

  • TEAM SIZE: Teams will consist of 4-6 players on a team and can register as a team below.

  • ELIGIBILITY: Open to males who are currently ages 15-27.

  • LEAGUE FORMAT: 

    • Games will be played Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the University of Winnipeg Axworthy RecPlex gymnasium.

    • A 3x3 half-court format will be used with 2 games operating at a time n the RecPlex gym.  
    • Teams will receive 2-3 games per evening. 

    • Games will run for 20 minutes running time OR to 21 points(whichever occurs first).  

    • Games will follow the current FIBA 3x3 Rule System as used at the Olympic level.  View the league rules HERE.  

DEADLINE: The deadline to register is Wednesday, January 5, 2022, or when the league reaches maximum capacity.  Register your team now to avoid disappointment!

Basketball Manitoba Note: Please note that attendance at or participation in this league will require all players, coaches, officials, volunteers, staff and spectators who are AGE 12+ to be able to prove their Covid-19 double vaccination status to gain entry to an indoor basketball facility in Manitoba until further notice.  People ages 12-17 can provide a 72 hour or newer negative Antigen test performed by a pharmacist or proof of a single shot of the Moderna / Pfizer vaccine.  NEW - Effective Feb 1, 2022, the University of Winnipeg will only accept proof of an age 12+ person's double vaccination status to gain entry to their facility.  Details can be found HERE...
