This week would have marked the pinnacle of the high school basketball season with many provincial championships wrapping up this weekend around Manitoba. With the unfortunate loss of the 2020-21 high school basketball season due to the ongoing pandemic, Basketball Manitoba would like to acknowledge the over 1350 grade 12 basketball players in Manitoba that would have finished their high school basketball careers this last season.
As part of this, Basketball Manitoba has created a "2020-21 High School Basketball Grad" T-shirt and hoodie that is now available for purchase. Many schools so far have made a bulk order as a gift to their grade 12 basketball players as a recognition of their high school basketball careers. All proceeds from the sales will go to support the Basketball Manitoba Awards Scholarships that are currently available to apply for until March 26, 2021. VIEW SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS
We know this past year has been difficult to say the least and we all feel the void that the lack of a basketball season has left on the community. Basketball will return to normal soon and we want it to remain a sport for life for everyone. We welcome the following grade 12 players to stay active in the sport in an adult basketball league, heading to the park for a game of pick-up or to get involved as a coach or official as the sport returns to normal.
