Image result for wmba basketballmanitoba.caThe Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association has announced that it has hired Sean Close as its new Executive Director.  Close replaces outgoing Executive Director Darcy Coss who announced last month that he is leaving the Association after 6 years in that role.  Coss has accepted a new position with FIBA 3x3 in Barcelona, Spain.  His last day with the WMBA is Friday April 20.

Most in the basketball community will know Sean as the League Coordinator and Founder with the Peg City Basketball League of which he began operations in 2015.  Peg City offers both an adult men's and youth basketball programming and will now be working under the umbrella of the WMBA.  He has been coaching WMBA community club teams at a variety of ages for the past 6 years and volunteers out of Red River Community Centre.  He has been active player, coach, administrator and volunteer in the basketball community for over 30 years.

The WMBA offers league programming for children in the greater Winnipeg area for boys and girls ages 5-18 and age 18+ adults.  More information can be found at http://www.wmba.ca.
