The Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association (WMBA) is seeking an individual to fill the position of Executive Director. The WMBA is a not-for-profit organization with a mandate to provide a positive environment for all Winnipeg & surrounding area youth, coaches, referees and parents by promoting the sport of basketball through community centre programs.
The Position: As the Executive Director for Winnipeg Minor Basketball, you are responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Association’s activities and resources in accordance with direction provided by the Board of Directors. The Executive Director, in this capacity, shall work with the Board of Directors in the development, review and implementation of Association policy and general operations of the league. The Executive Director shall have overall responsibility for the development of planning, programming and fiscal management of the Association in accordance with approved policies.
The Candidate: An understanding of Winnipeg Minor Basketball programs, the local basketball scene and the community centre system would be an asset. You have experience with financial management and staff management. A high-energy, “Type A” person who is capable of multi-tasking and has good organizational skills. You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability of manage the day-to-day activities of the organization. Computer skills that would include knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, social media and website management.
Qualifications: A related University or College degree or related experience in sports administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
