    Westman Youth Basketball Association Officially Announced

    Basketball Manitoba is pleased to share the news that the Westman Youth Basketball Association (WYBA) has officially formed to serve the children and families in western Manitoba.  The WYBA is a non-profit community organization that offers youth aged 8-17, the opportunity to participate in basketball. The league is open to youth of all skill levels. WYBA collaborates with other community organizations to extend their basketball offerings.

    Basketball Canada LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development) model and Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L) will influence our programs to ensure safety, quality and enjoyment.  The President and founder of the association is Novell Thomas, the current Head Basketball Women's Coach at Brandon University.

    All members of the WYBA will also become members of Basketball Manitoba which will provide accident and liability insurance and other supports.

    More information on their upcoming programs and leagues will be announced in the near future.  A website has been set up with some initial information of which you can sign up with their email newsletter to stay informed as new information gets announced.   Visit them at...
