High Performance Coach /
Technical Director - 25 hours per week
Position:
The High
Performance Coach / Technical Director is a newly created position responsible
for the effective and efficient management of the Association’s activities and
resources connected to its high performance and technical programming in
accordance with direction provided by the Board of Directors. The person in this capacity shall work with
the Executive Director and Board of Directors in the development and continuing
advancement of the following programs:
- Manitoba Provincial Team Program
(PT) - Centre for Performance Program
(CP) - Regional Training Centre Program
(RTC) - National Coaching Certification Program
(NCCP) - Super Coaches Clinic
- Support with all Referee Clinics
(Junior & Senior) - NBA Player Camps
- Identification and Development of
Additional Programs and Services
The successful
candidate shall have overall responsibility for the development of planning and
programming of these aspects in accordance with approved policy. Within these programs, duties will include
(but may not be limited to):
- Recruitment and support of coaches in
relation to the applicable above mentioned programs - Recruitment of athletes in relation to
the applicable above mentioned programs - Establishment and Management of PT /
CP / RTC Yearly Training / Competition Plans - Management of all PT / CP / RTC
tryouts - NCCP Master Learning Facilitator
- Member of Basketball Manitoba Technical Committee
- Member of the National Championship
Committee for 2010 and 2011 - Frequent technical based content for
the Basketball Manitoba website (blogs, videos and other uses of
technology)
The Successful Candidate Would Possess:
- An extensive background within the
sport of basketball as either a coach and/or administrator. - An understanding of Basketball Manitoba programs
and the national and provincial sport delivery system. - An understanding of Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD &
CS4L) concepts and goals. - A high-energy work ethic with the
capability of multi-tasking with good organizational skills. - Excellent written and verbal
communication skills and the ability of manage the day-to-day technical activities
of the organization. - Computer skills that would include
knowledge of Microsoft Office, email and other web-based applications.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of NCCP Level 3 Certification.
- A related University or College degree
or related experience in sport administration; or an equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Salary:
Salary and
benefits will be commensurate with education and experience and be based on a 25 hour work week with potential
to increase in the future.
