The 2009 Basketball Manitoba Annual General Meeting held Thursday June 19 saw the election of two new members to the Basketball Manitoba Board of Directors. Shirley Blanca and Ross Wedlake have been elected to the 10 member Board and join Joe DiCurzio, Randy Kusano and Rod Peppler who were also re-elected to 2-year terms. Shirley Blanca is the current president of the Manitoba Magic Basketball Club and Ross Wedlake is the current Chair of the Manitoba Basketball Hall or Fame, member of Sport Manitoba's Board of Directors and sits on the Manitoba Sport Hall of Fame Selection Committee. Both have also been active in the coaching and referee ranks. Shirley and Ross replace outgoing board members in Murray Hamm and Angela Epp. Basketball Manitoba welcomes the two new members to the fold and thanks both Murray and Ang for their commitment tot he growth of basketball in Manitoba!
