The St. Maurice School Social Justice Committee, with the support of Basketball Manitoba and the Manitoba High School Athletics Association will be holding a Private Catholic schools three point competition set for Thursday April 10, 2014 at 4:30 pm.  The registration fee is only $5 per person; with all proceeds going towards building a school in Kenya for under privileged children.  The event will also be collecting canned foods or gently used sports equipment as they will be donated to local charities.

Spectators are welcome to come and watch, free of charge! There will also be a bake sale where people can buy some snacks and drinks.

It is quite evident that many of us are lucky that we are able to participate in sports, but unfortunately this is not the case for many youth, not only in Winnipeg, but across the world.  There is no better place to start than home itself, by coming together we can use our love for basketball and make a difference in our community.
