Winnipeg basketball player Kyler Filewich has signed with Steaua București in Romania for the 2026-27 season, Mansfield Sports announced.
Filewich joins the Romanian club after helping the Winnipeg Sea Bears capture the 2026 Canadian Elite Basketball League Championship this summer.
The Winnipeg native spent his first professional season in Europe in 2025-26 with Olomoucko in the Czech Republic, averaging 12.3 points and 10 rebounds per game during his rookie European campaign.
Prior to turning professional, Filewich completed his collegiate career at Wofford College in 2025. In his senior season with the Terriers, he averaged 12 points, nine rebounds and three assists per game.
The move to Steaua București will mark Filewich’s second season playing professionally in Europe.
