Basketball Manitoba is proud to share the news that Manitoba and Team Canada wheelchair basketball athlete Bernard Rosello will continue his academic and athletic career at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
Rosello has continued to build his profile nationally and internationally. In 2025, he represented Canada at the Under-23 World Championship in Brazil, where the team finished ninth in the world. Earlier that year, he helped Canada earn a second-place finish at the Under-23 qualifier in Colombia, securing the country’s place at the World Championship.
He also competed at the Canadian Junior Westerns in Calgary, where his team placed second, before representing Manitoba at the Men’s National Championships in Oshawa and helping the provincial team finish sixth.
Rosello was introduced to wheelchair basketball at age 12 by a sledge hockey teammate. He quickly developed a passion for the sport and has grown into a dedicated, high-performing athlete who continues to represent Manitoba with pride.
Off the court, Rosello is a student whose achievements, commitment and continued development have distinguished him within the wheelchair basketball community. His move to Edinboro University marks another important step in his academic and athletic journey.
Basketball Manitoba recognized Bernard as its 2026 Male Wheelchair Athlete of the Year at its Awards event in April. Basketball Manitoba congratulates Bernard on this significant achievement and wishes him continued success at Edinboro University!
