Metro Linkz Basketball has announced an expanded youth development offering in Brandon with the launch of its 2026 U13 Boys Spring and Summer Session, running from Wednesday, April 8, 2026 through Thursday, June 18, 2026.

The program will take place at Riverheights School and the Brandon University Healthy Living Centre in Brandon, Manitoba, with sessions scheduled on Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM and Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

The training program is designed to provide young athletes with consistent skill development across a wide range of key basketball fundamentals. Areas of focus will include ball handling, crossovers, hesitation moves, and control to help players navigate defenders. Additional skill work will focus on shooting form, shooting off the catch and dribble, and finishing at the rim.

Players will also work on defensive skills such as on-ball positioning, closeouts, rebounding, and boxing out, along with passing development in chest, bounce, and overhead passes. Footwork and movement instruction will include jump stops, pivots, and defensive slides to help athletes improve balance, control, and speed.

Program fee options have been set at $275 for both Wednesday and Thursday sessions, $200 for Wednesdays only, and $180 for Thursdays only.

Metro Linkz Basketball has also noted that players demonstrating stronger skills may have the opportunity to participate in the WYBA tournament in May and possibly additional tournaments in June.
