Hoopz.ca has announced a new Manitoba-developed coaching resource designed to help youth basketball coaches manage one of the most challenging parts of game day: playing time and bench rotations.

Anyone who has coached youth basketball knows how quickly it can become difficult to track minutes, balance substitutions, and ensure fair opportunities for every player during the flow of a game. Hoopz.ca was created to simplify that process and give coaches a practical tool they can use in real time.

Developed by Manitoba-based coach Rodger Salm, Hoopz.ca is a web-based platform that helps coaches plan rotations, monitor playing time, and bring more structure to the bench. The tool is intended to reduce guesswork during games so coaches can stay organized and focused on teaching, supporting players, and managing the game environment.

Fair playing time continues to be an important part of player development and long-term participation in sport. When coaches have better tools to support decision-making during games, it can contribute to a more positive, consistent, and development-focused experience for young athletes.

As organizations across the basketball community continue to emphasize development and inclusion, resources that assist coaches at the team level can play an important role in strengthening the sport. Hoopz.ca is available free of charge for coaches and will continue to evolve through feedback from the basketball community.
