Basketball Manitoba is pleased to announce details on the 2026 Manitoba Provincial Team Identification Camps for the upcoming summer.

Identification Camp Dates and Locations
  1. Winnipeg Based Identification Camp: Sunday, March 29, 2026, Sport For Life Centre (145 Pacific Ave, Winnipeg, MB
  2. Brandon Based Identification Camp: Friday, April 17, 2026, Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School (1930 1st St, Brandon, MB)
Important Note
These Identification Camps are not the formal tryouts for the Manitoba Provincial Team program. They are identification opportunities for athletes living outside of Winnipeg, and are being offered to provide athletes with additional consideration from Provincial Team Coaches who will be present.

The formal Manitoba Provincial Team Tryouts will occur May 8-10, 2026, at the Sport Manitoba Courts in Winnipeg. The May tryouts are open to any Manitoba resident who meets the age requirements. Provincial Team Tryout details will be announced in early spring.

2026 Provincial Team Program Overview
The 2026 Manitoba Provincial Team Program will comprise six teams. The 15U and 17U teams will compete at the Canada Basketball National Championships. The 14U Male and Female teams are Developmental Provincial Teams and will participate in multiple tournaments throughout the summer.

National Championships
The Canada Basketball 15U and 17U National Championships will run August 3-8, 2026, and feature teams representing each of the ten provinces across Canada. The 15U and 17U female competitions will be held in Sherbrooke, QC, while the 15U and 17U male tournaments will be hosted in Regina, SK.

Selection Process and Summer Plans
Teams will be selected from the open tryouts in May. Any Manitoba resident who fits the age categories is eligible and welcome to try out. Once teams are selected, the provincial teams will train and compete through June and July, leading into their respective summer competition schedules.

  • All Teams: Prairie Cup vs Team Saskatchewan (Regina, SK) - June 26-28, 2026
  • 15U and 17U Female Teams: Canada Basketball National Championships (Sherbrooke, QC) - August 3-8, 2026
  • 15U and 17U Male Teams: Canada Basketball National Championships (Regina, SK) - August 3-8, 2026
The Manitoba Provincial Team Program is the premier player and coach development program in the province. The program attracts top players and coaches to represent Manitoba at national and international events. Ages 14U, 15U and 17U are offered to both male and female players, and the program operates annually from May through August.

Registration and Check-In
  • Registration: Online preregistration is required (links below)
  • Check-in: On-site check-in will begin 20 minutes prior to the first session per age category. Players should arrive dressed and ready to play.
  • Bring a basketball: Players are asked to bring their own basketball (Girls size 6, Boys size 7)

Player Eligibility
All eligible players must fit into one of the age divisions below and have been a resident of Manitoba on or before February 1, 2026.
  • 14U Female: born in 2012 or later
  • 14U Male: born in 2012 or later
  • 15U Female: born in 2011 or later
  • 15U Male: born in 2011 or later
  • 17U Female: born in 2009 or later
  • 17U Male: born in 2009 or later
