Keenan Benarroch has been involved in basketball for nearly a decade, both as a player and a coach. He played for the University of Manitoba Bisons from 2014 to 2017.
Following his playing career, Keenan served as an assistant coach for the University of Manitoba Men’s Basketball team during the 2017–2018 season. During this time, he also worked as a program coordinator for the Junior Bisons. He later joined the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Women’s Basketball team as an Assistant Coach, a role he held from 2019 to 2023. In the 2021–2022 season, Keenan played a key role in helping the team achieve a perfect 20–0 record, capturing both the OUA and U SPORTS National Championships.
Keenan has been deeply involved in provincial and grassroots basketball. In 2021, he served as the Head Coach for the Downtown Toronto Centre for Performance and as an Apprentice Coach with the Ontario 15U Provincial Girls team. He has also worked extensively in athlete development as a Head Coach of a 14U boys team and as a coach within the Junior Academy program in Winnipeg.
In 2020, Keenan worked as a Video and Performance Analyst for Canada Basketball’s 3x3 Men’s National Team during the Olympic Qualifying Tournament, where he analyzed game footage and provided performance insights to support team success.
Currently, Keenan is pursuing a Bachelor of Education at the University of Manitoba while coaching the JV boys team at Fort Richmond Collegiate and assisting with the University of Manitoba Bisons program.
