
Dan Becker brings more than three decades of experience as both a high-level player and coach. A graduate of Fort Richmond Collegiate, he went on to play NCAA Division I basketball at the University of Colorado before embarking on a 12-year professional playing career that included stops across North America and internationally, as well as time with the Winnipeg Thunder and Winnipeg Cyclone. Becker also represented Canada on multiple Student and Training National Teams, including appearances at the World Universiade Games and the Jones Cup. He was invited to NBA tryouts with the Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers in 1991.
As a coach, Becker has worked extensively across the high school, post-secondary, provincial, and national development pathways. He completed his NCCP Level 4 education through the National Coaching Institute and has coached multiple Basketball Manitoba Provincial Teams, including leading the 2014 Manitoba 17U Boys to the program’s first national gold medal. His coaching resume also includes assistant and interim head coaching roles with the University of Manitoba, leadership roles within the Canada Basketball Centre for Performance, and championship success at the high school level. A Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, Becker continues to serve as a lead coach, learning facilitator, and evaluator within Basketball Manitoba’s high-performance system.
