Riley Velasco brings strong leadership experience from both the high school and club systems, with a proven track record in female athlete development. He is currently the Varsity Girls Head Coach at Kelvin High School, where he has helped elevate the program to increased AAAA provincial appearances while establishing a positive, competitive team culture. In parallel, Velasco serves as the Girls Lead Coordinator and Head Coach within the Summit Basketball Club, overseeing multiple teams from 13U to 18U and coordinating long-term development plans for more than 45 athletes across the program
Velasco is recognized for his detailed approach to practice planning, game preparation, and athlete engagement. His coaching philosophy emphasizes structured skill development, adaptability, and creating environments where athletes feel challenged, supported, and invested in their growth. His experience coordinating coaching staff and mentoring junior coaches adds valuable depth to the provincial team environment.
