Basketball Manitoba is pleased to share the news that Kyler Filewich has signed with BK Olomoucko, a professional basketball club based in Olomouc, Czech Republic. The team competes in the Czech NBL, the country’s top basketball league.
Kyler recently capped off an impressive NCAA Division I career with Wofford, where he appeared in March Madness this past season, before suiting up with the Winnipeg Sea Bears of the CEBL over the summer.
A product of Vincent Massey High School, Filewich was ranked the No. 1 high school basketball player in Manitoba in both 2018 and 2019. He began his NCAA Division I career at Southern Illinois University, where he earned Missouri Valley Conference all-freshman team honours, before transferring to Wofford College.
At Wofford, he developed into a dominant presence in the paint, starting all 35 games in the 2024–25 season while averaging 11.7 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. He was named SoCon Tournament MVP, helped lead Wofford to an NCAA tournament appearance, and earned both all-tournament first team and all-SoCon third team honours. He also earned CSC academic all-district recognition.
Known for his rebounding and efficiency, Filewich finishes his NCAA career with more than 150 games played.
Basketball Manitoba extends congratulations and best wishes to Kyler as he continues his professional career in the Czech Republic.
