The Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association (WMBA) has announced that the 2025 edition of the WMBA x ELEVATE 3x3 Youth Summer League officially tips off this week, with opening skill sessions beginning Tuesday, July 8 and league games starting Wednesday, July 9.
Now in full swing, the summer league features over 200 players ages 8 to 17 from across Winnipeg. Each player will take part in weekly skill development sessions led by university and pro athletes, followed by high-rep 3x3 games every Wednesday evening. The league is built on a player-first model emphasizing more touches, faster play, and higher basketball IQ through the internationally recognized FIBA 3x3 format.
All games are hosted at high-quality outdoor basketball courts constructed by the WMBA Foundation in partnership with six local community centres across the city. These courts are purpose-built to support grassroots development and make the game more accessible.
