Team Manitoba Wraps Up Successful Weekend at U.S. Events
Basketball Manitoba is pleased to announce the results for three provincial teams following competition in Minnesota from July 11–13, 2025. The 17U and 14U female teams participated in the 2025 North Tartan Meltdown, while the 15U male team competed at the Prep Hoops Future Stars Classic.
Each squad displayed strong fundamentals, tactical growth, and resilience against top U.S. competition.
17U Female – North Tartan Meltdown (Shakopee, MN)

Basketball Manitoba has announced that three of its provincial teams—the 17U Female, 14U Female, and 15U Male squads—will be travelling to Minneapolis, Minnesota, this coming weekend to compete in two high-level American tournaments as part of their preparations for the 2025 National Championships and Canada Games.
The 17U and 14U Female teams will participate in the prestigious North Tartan Meltdown, running July 10–13, 2025. Hosted at multiple sites in Minneapolis (Bloomington and Shakopee), the event draws top female teams from across the U.S. and is regarded as one of the most competitive summer showcases in the Midwest. Meanwhile, the 15U Male Provincial Team will take part in the Prep Hoops Future Stars Classic, held July 11–13, 2025, in Minneapolis (Long Lake), MN. This tournament is known for elite-level boys' teams from across the region and will give Manitoba’s next wave of talent a strong test ahead of their summer championship run. This international experience provides Manitoba’s top youth players with valuable high-level competition and exposure as they continue to prepare for the summer’s main events, including the 2025 National Championships and Canada Games. These cross-border events are a key part of the provincial team development pathway, offering elite matchups and competitive pressure against some of the best youth programs in North America.
