Providence University College has announced the signing of Dylan Friesen to its men’s basketball program for the 2025–2026 season.

Friesen, a 6’0” guard from Northlands Parkway Collegiate in Winkler, Manitoba, will join the Pilots as a redshirt for his first year. He becomes the latest addition to a program coming off a championship season in the Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NIAC).

“I am very excited to add Dylan to our recruiting class,” said Pilots Head Coach Pierre. “He is a great competitor and has already shown improvement from the first time he came to run with the team to his official tryout. He will be joining us first as a redshirt, but I trust that he will develop into an impactful guard in the future.”

Friesen shared his appreciation for those who supported him along the way: “I’d like to thank God, my family, and my friends for supporting me throughout this journey. I would also like to thank Coach Pierre for the opportunity he’s giving me and I am excited to continue growing as a player and a person.”

Friesen joins a strong Pilots roster that captured the 2025 NIAC championship and will look to continue building on that success heading into next season.
