Basketball Manitoba is proud to share that Winnipeg’s Simon Hildebrandt has been invited to the Canada Basketball U23 Men’s National Team training camp ahead of GLOBL JAM 2025, an international showcase taking place August 13–17 in Toronto.
The 6-foot-9 forward has carved a rapid path through the Canadian basketball ranks. A former Canada West Rookie of the Year, U SPORTS Rookie of the Year, and First Team All-Star, Hildebrandt was a standout with the University of Manitoba Bisons and last summer with the Winnipeg Sea Bears, where he played his first professional season in 2023. He averaged 6.1 points and 3.5 rebounds in 21 games and was named the 2023 CEBL U SPORTS Player of the Year.
After a stellar sophomore campaign with the Bisons—where he averaged 16.3 points and posted a career-high 41-point game—Hildebrandt transferred to High Point University before committing to Washington State University for the upcoming 2025-26 NCAA Division 1 season. His invitation to Canada’s U23 roster places him among the nation’s top emerging talent, including fellow NCAA and professional athletes, and reflects the growing influence of Manitoba players on the national scene.
GLOBL JAM serves as a critical development platform in Canada’s high-performance pathway. With all games hosted at Toronto Metropolitan University’s Mattamy Athletic Centre, the event gives fans a chance to see Canada’s next generation compete on home soil.
Basketball Manitoba congratulates Simon on this well-earned recognition and looks forward to seeing him represent the province and country with pride at GLOBL JAM 2025!
