The Bisons men’s basketball program has announced the commitment of Spanish wing Felipe Díaz as part of its 2025 recruiting class.

Standing 6’8”, Díaz hails from Madrid, Spain and most recently played at Lennoxville Prep in Quebec. He earned Power5 AAA First Team All-Conference honours during the 2024–25 prep season, highlighted by multiple 36-point performances—including one against five-time U.S. national prep champion Putnam Academy.

Díaz brings extensive international experience to the Bisons, having competed for Spain’s U16 and U18 national teams. At the 2024 U18 Eurobasket, he led Spain in points per possession and ranked third in field goal percentage. He also contributed to Spain’s silver medal run at the U16 Eurobasket two years prior.

“We are very excited to add Felipe to the Bison Family,” said Head Coach Kirby Schepp. “He is a special talent and should fit right in with our group. We think Felipe can fill many roles within the offense, as he is a true position-less player.”

Díaz added: “I’m so excited to be part of the Bison family. There is no better place for me to improve as a basketball player and as a person. I’m looking forward to joining the team and starting to work hard.”

With Díaz’s commitment, the Bisons’ 2025 recruiting class is now complete:

  • Felipe Díaz – 6’8”
  • Ramogi Nyagudi – 6’9”
  • Titus Heron – 5’10”
  • Ethan Wiebe – 6’9”
  • Dante Dyck – 6’2”

“It’s a good group that I believe can help us now and into the future,” added Coach Schepp.
