The women’s basketball program at the University of Maniotba has announced that Emily Mandamin has committed to the program for the 2023-24 Canada west season
A few years back, the then 17-year-old guard out of Iskatewizaagegan #39 First Nation became the first person from her community to secure a full basketball scholarship for college.
She’s played all over the USA, including Texas and Kansas, and she also attended Dakota Collegiate in Winnipeg in grades nine and ten in order to improve her skills. Then, at 16, she moved to Toronto to play in the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association.
