It is with the utmost sadness that Basketball Manitoba and the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame share the news of the passing of Brent Graham. Brent passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, after a battle with cancer. He was best known to the basketball community as the Physical Education teacher and basketball coach at River East Collegiate in Winnipeg. His teams were always competitive and reflected his passion and respect for the game. In the 1994-95 season, he led the Kodiaks to the MHSAA AAAA Provincial Championship. Brent also coached at the Manitoba Provincial Team level for several years in the 1980s.
Brent also spent some time as a basketball official, and once again, his down-to-earth demeanour and attitude made him well-liked and respected by everyone in our extended basketball community. Our deepest sympathies are extended to Brent's wife, Deb, and his family, friends and colleagues.
Another good guy gone way too soon.
