Basketball Manitoba and the Manitoba Association of Basketball Officials are pleased to announce that Carriera Lamoureux of Winnipeg, Manitoba, has been named a recent recipient of the Sport Manitoba 'Women to Watch' grant!  Carriera is very active in the basketball community as an official, coach and player.  The award recognizes her achievements to date and potential in the officiating world.  She began officiating basketball in 2017 and has quickly emerged as of of the game's future leaders with ambitions to officiate at the national and international levels.  The 2021-22 season has seen her move to the university level of the game, working in the Canada West conference.  She is also active at the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) and high school levels.  

She maintains a busy officiating schedule while being a university student and working with the Manitoba Aboriginal Sports and Recreation Council as its Sport for Social Development Manager.  

In partnership with Provincial Sport Organizations, Sport Manitoba provides a monthly grant of $500.00 to a female athlete, team, official or volunteer to enhance their women in sport careers.
