Basketball Manitoba is saddened to share the news of the passing of long-time Winkler area basketball coach Mark Hamm. Mark was a tireless basketball coach and volunteer at the school, club and Manitoba Games levels and his impact on the Winkler and Manitoba basketball communities are immeasurable.
Mark coached a number of basketball teams at Garden Valley Collegiate (his alma mater), was a co-founder of the Winkler Basketball Club and was the South region basketball coach at the 2016 Manitoba Games. In 2017 he was instrumental in helping make the beautiful Pineridge outdoor basketball courts a reality.
It's hard to not think of Mark when you think "Winkler Basketball". His tireless passion for "paying it forward" to the next generation was second to none.
His impact on the game to countless others will not be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mark’s family, friends and teams.
