Today on the Basketball Manitoba Podcast host Darcy Coss sits down with Uzoma Asagwara.

Uzoma is a graduate of  St. Norbert Collegiate where they were ranked the #2 high school player in Manitoba. They went on to play at the University of Winnipeg where they played for 5 years with the Wesmen as well as playing for the Canadian National Team at the Pan American Games 2007.
During their 5 years, the Wesmen went to the National Championship tournament two times finishing high as second place.

Uzoma was recognized as CIS Second Team All-Canadian, CIS Championship Tournament All-Star, Canada West First and Second Team All-Star and was named to the Canada West All-Rookie Team. In Uzoma’s 5th and final year they lead the nation in scoring and they are the all-time scoring leader in Wesmen history. 

Uzoma is now in politics as an MLA for the New Democratic Party representing Union Station.
