Basketball Manitoba is currently seeking to hire up to 4 individuals interested in joining its new Livebasketball.ca Video Crew.  The new initiative by Basketball Manitoba will springboard off its livebasketball.ca website to hire, train and equip a crew of people to begin live streaming basketball games at the club and school levels in the Winnipeg and Brandon areas this season.  The livebasketball.ca website was launched in 2018 allowing schools and clubs the ability to connect and stream their local games to the Basketball Manitoba YouTube audience which currently sits at over 28,000 subscribers.  That option remains open to Manitoba basketball programs to use. 

The successful Video Crew candidates will possess the following attributes...

ATTRIBUTES:

  • Has a past or current interest and/or experience with the sport of basketball as a player, coach, official or volunteer.  
  • Has a flexible schedule and is able to work evenings and weekends in the Winnipeg or Brandon area and can start immediately (including being able to work on the weekend of October 29-31).  
  • Has a comfort level and understanding of current technology including the use of iPads and YouTube. 
  • Be eligible to work in Canada and are currently living in the Winnipeg or Brandon, Manitoba area.  
  • Have access to their own reliable transportation.
  • Be currently age 18 or older.
  • Be subject to a criminal records check.
  • Be able to provide proof of their double Covid-19 vaccination status (currently required to enter any indoor gymnasium in Manitoba).


POSITION:  "Video Crew Member"
  • Being able to work independently in a gym environment with little to no supervision.  
  • Responsible for the transportation and set up of the Basketball Manitoba supplied video streaming equipment to and from game sites.
  • The operation of the video streaming equipment during the scheduled games including the use of the camera.

WAGE: 
  • Pay will range from $20 to $25 per game.
  • a basketball game ranges from 1 to 1.5 hours in length.
