Session 5:

The next session of the Bison Transport Sport LeadHERship Series is Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 7 p.m. CST.

Role Models: Who they are and why they matter
Women in influential positions can challenge stereotypes about gender in leadership and can offer diverse insight and advice to other girls and women based on their own experiences. Our guest speakers for this session will share stories about their role models and how their influence led them to the sport environment in which they live now:
  • Elizabeth Derraugh is the Executive Director at Speed Skating Manitoba. From a family with a long history in speed skating, Elizabeth uses her talents in operations and administration to shepherd the next generation of Manitoban speed skaters in competition and sportsmanship.

  • Dallas Ludwick, as a former competitive athlete with the Pan Am Diving Club, has a true understanding and appreciation for high-performance sport. Currently, Dallas is the Head Coach of the Manitoba Regional Diving Centre through the Canadian Sport Centre Manitoba as well as one of Canada’s Senior National Team Coaches.

  • Daria Jorquera Palmer has engaged in sport in multiple ways over the past 20 years: as an athlete on the Canadian National Fencing Team for 12 years, competing in over 25 countries, eventually transitioning to becoming the head coach of her fencing club and the assistant provincial fencing coach in Manitoba.
