JUNE 1 UPDATE

Are all basketball courts now open to play on?
No. Some municipalities and school divisions have reopened some playground spaces, but not all have. If a school division has announced they are reopening to some students in a limited fashion, the outdoor basketball court would be considered open again, however, it is asked you do not use the courts during school hours. Best to check with your local area and respect any signage placed at any courts restricting or limiting their use.

If the court is deemed open, can anyone now play?
No. “Social distancing” steps must still be respected at all times which can make playing basketball difficult. A lone person shooting on a hoop with their own basketball or with their “family bubble” (people they are quarantining with) would be acceptable. Proper hand washing before and after any activity should be performed and if you are feeling ill or showing any symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home.

Is there is a listing of outdoor courts in Manitoba?
We have reactivated our outdoor court map on the Basketball Manitoba website to help you find a court to play on. Swipe to see an example of the court maps. If we are missing your favourite court in Manitoba, please submit your data to us. We are looking for more data from all corners of Manitoba, so please check out the map and submit your neighbourhood court if we are missing it!  See it all at http://outdoor.basketballmanitoba.ca

Can I play basketball on my own driveway hoop?
Yes. But keep it limited to your family bubble and still wash your hands before and after to be safe.  Check out our new Driveway Drills video series for some ideas to stay active!
