The Basketball Manitoba Board of Directors has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Junior High Basketball Championships.  This was not an easy decision to make but was made after numerous consultations and was deemed to be the right one in light of the ever-unfolding health situation facing our community.

Details on the announcement of the Basketball Manitoba Board can be seen here...

So it goes without saying, but we will anyway, the Sunday meeting to make our selections is obviously cancelled.  At this point, with no definitive end to this health concern, the plans to reschedule the event are not looking feasible.  With the spring, we will (hopefully) see other programs return as soon as possible and commitments by our players, coaches, hosts, venues and officials will continue with different basketball and other activities making this virtually impossible to even consider it being rescheduled.  However, our staff and Board will continue to evaluate this event and the many others affected by this unprecedented situation we are all facing.

Logistically, since no decisions were made on teams entering the event, no fees have been collected to date.  If you have a payment request in your system, that can be cancelled and if we were to receive any payments by mail, we would return them to the school.

Thanks again for your interest and support of middle school / junior high basketball all season and we hope everyone remains safe and healthy.
