Basketball Manitoba is reminding all active basketball clubs in the province of the window of time that tryouts for next year's programs are permitted to begin. As has been the agreement for the past number of years, no tryout for next year's club programs shall begin before the end of the Canada Basketball National Championships which will make this year occur no earlier than the third Friday of August which will be Friday, August 16, 2019. The time restriction that has been put in place will allow for an equal starting point of time for clubs to begin their programs for the next season and allow for some needed rest and recovery time away from basketball for players, coaches and families. Clubs can continue their tryouts after this date through August and into September.
The 2019 Canada Basketball National Championships which will run August 4-11 in British Columbia and New Brunswick and the Western Canada Summer Games will occur in Swift Current, SK August 9-13. Over 70 of the top basketball players in Manitoba will be at these events, thus the reason for clubs starting the following week.

Clubs looking to communicate their tryout details with Basketball Manitoba and the WMBA can email it at any time to the addresses noted below to have it communicated out by web, email and social media to the basketball community. Only tryouts occurring on or after the above-noted date will be communicated to the masses.
