Congratulations to coach Kirby Schepp who led Canada to a 4th place finish over the weekend in Argentina at the FIBA U17 World Championships!  This was the 2nd highest finish for Canada ever at the world event (Bronze in 2010) and will help maintain Canada's current #2 FIBA youth world ranking.

Canada's U17 Men's National Team fell to Puerto Rico 90-77 on Sunday evening to finish fourth at the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2018.

Benjamin Krikke played a great all-around game to help Team Canada in all aspects, recording 14 ponts off of 66% shooting from the field, along with 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and a block.

Canada forced Puerto Rico into traffic as often as they could to force turnovers and bad shots in the first quarter.  Matching offensive run for offensive run, Canada and Puerto Rico entered the second quarter tied 20-20.

Canada matched everything Puerto Rico did in the second quarter to keep within five.  Going into the half time break, Canada trailed Puerto Rico 40-37.

Canada got lots of opportunities during the 3rd quarter but a more consistent Puerto Rico team stopped Canada from taking the lead.  Going into the fourth quarter, Puerto Rico held an 8-point lead over Canada, 57-49.

Despite their more consistent shooting and equal chances in the fourth quarter, Canada couldn't shrink the lead of Puerto Rico and fell 90-77.
