As preparations continue ahead of the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018, Canada will face 10th ranked China and 13th ranked Japan.  At the FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2017, Japan (champions) and China (3rd place) both qualified for this September's World Cup.

Steve Baur (Canada Basketball) will assume head coaching duties for the series and will be joined by fellow assistant Carly Clarke (Ryerson University).

Canada is currently ranked a program-high 5th in the FIBA World ranking presented by Nike.
