The Junior Bobcats club basketball program is a Brandon University affiliated basketball program for young females.  Junior Bobcats is an intense, competitive and fun spring basketball program. Participants will train at a high level and play in multiple tournaments and games. 

Try-outs will be on the following days at Brandon University’s Healthy Living Centre:

  • Tuesday March 20 – 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. (U14 (2004) & U15 (2003); 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. (U16 (2002) and U17 (2001)
  • Wednesday March 21 – 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. (U14 & U15); 4-5:30p (U16 and U17)
Try-out cost: $25 + GST (applies to participants 16 years and older)

Junior Bobcats 2018 Teams :
  • U17 (17 and under born in 2001)
  • U15 (15 and under born in 2003)
  • U14 (14 and under born in 2004)
* The number of teams and age groupings may change based on registration and participant numbers. For example, we may have a U16 team rather than a U15 team

2018 Training Schedule:

Practice days are as follows (subject to change):
  • April 3, 4, 5, 8, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 21, 22, 23, 25, 30
  • May 2, 4, 9, 16, 23
2-3 practices per week. Practices will be 1.5-2 hours in length. Practice times will be circulated once the teams have been selected.

Teams will participate in games as well as 2-3 tournaments
  • Junior Bobcats Club Tournament (Brandon - April 28–29)
  • GYGO Club Classic (May 4-6) – U14’s Only
  • Manitoba Club Provincials (Winnipeg, May 10-13) – All age groups
  • Cougar Club Classic (Regina, May 18-20) – (Most likely U15 & U17)
  • NABA Tournament (Winnipeg, May 25-27)
 
Note: Additional tournaments and exhibition games may be added to the schedule
Note: Not all age groupings will attend the above tournaments
 
 
  • Cost:  
    • For team members the participation fee is $390 + GST. Fee includes apparel (jersey, shorts, shooting top), training fee, gym fees, competition fees & insurance.
 
This total does not include additional costs such as accommodations, food and transportation when traveling.

  • Playing Time:
    • The purpose of the Junior Bobcats program is to develop players and have more youth from the region playing basketball. Playing time will be granted to those who demonstrate the following (in no particular order): great work ethic; great attitude; commitment to practices; an understanding of team concepts; and the ability to apply team concepts.
