The Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) is very pleased to announce that Neil Noonan of Winnipeg has accepted the position as the conference’s Communication Coordinator for the 2017-18 season. Neil is well known for his work in local sports media. He and his partner, Suraj Kanada, have produced and hosted the podcast “The Game of Runs,” for the past four years. They provide interesting discussions about all levels of basketball, from professional to the local scene. They also host a basketball show on radio station UMFM (101.5).

This summer Neil is also working as a communications intern for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. For the past eleven summers he has also worked in a leadership position for Mini U at the University of Manitoba.

In September he will continue in his second year of the Creative Communications Program at Red River College (RRC), majoring in Public Relations. He will also return as a sports reporter for the RRC student newspaper the Projector.

Bill Wedlake, Executive Director of the MCAC commented, “We are very excited to have a person with Neil’s credentials and contacts in the local sport community join our staff.  His contributions will help promote the achievements of the college student athletes and provide exciting information to sport fans and the general community.”

About the MCAC
The MCAC is the governing body for intercollegiate athletics in Manitoba and consists of six post secondary institutions in Manitoba: Assiniboine Community College, Brandon University, Canadian Mennonite University, Providence University College, Red River College, Universitรฉ de Saint Boniface. These institutions compete in basketball, futsal, soccer, and volleyball.
