Denham Buchanan, Earl Thompson Jr. & Samy Stanson Desir
BRANDON - Three new members of the Bobcats men's basketball team have arrived in the Wheat City, including one college transfer that was not previously announced. Denham Buchanan, Samy Stanson Desir, and Earl Thompson Jr. have all made their way to Brandon and are ready to begin their first seasons as members of the Brandon University Bobcats.

Buchanan and Desir were previously announced earlier this summer, while Thompson was a late commitment who is eager to get down to business at BU.

Thompson played two seasons for the Shoreline Community College Dolphins, in Shoreline, Wash. where he led his team in both scoring and rebounding during his sophomore season, averaging  21.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.

Thompson's impressive season with the Dolphins earned him North West Athletic Conference all-star honours in 2013-14.

Thompson is looking forward to new opportunities in Brandon and is excited to be in a new country.

"I'm excited to be a part of a program that's building towards bigger and better things and I feel I can contribute to the program that Coach Cheung is creating," said Thompson.  "I look forward to learning from coach and my teammates while I'm in Brandon."

The 6-foot-5 guard/forward offers a wide range of skills that will be an asset to the BU squad says coach Gil Cheung,

"Earl's versatility gives him an ability to score in a variety of ways. I think he has the potential to be a mismatch for other forwards in our conference. He has a very high basketball IQ and will fit in very well on and off the court."

Thompson will be coming into his third year of eligibility with BU after spending two seasons at Shoreline. Thompson graduated high school in his hometown of Henderson, Nev. after being born and raised in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
