Human Kinetics is hosting a free hour-long webinar featuring Jeff Huber, renowned former diving coach, professor of psychology, and author of Applying Educational Psychology in Coaching Athletes, who will discuss how athletes learn and how coaches can teach passion in sport. In this webinar, those who teach, practice, and aspire to be great coaches will learn how to:

  • Create the passionate and motivated athlete.
  • Become the coach kids love and never forget.
  • Build an environment that breeds “the salivating athlete.”
  • Decondition and recondition athletes to overcome mental blocks.

Dr. Huber will present what he considers the single most important learning theory for athlete success - a theory that can’t be found in any other textbook on coaching, motor learning, or motor performance.

The live webinar will take place on Wednesday, November 20th, at 12:00 pm Manitoba time. Even if you know you have a schedule conflict, please register for the live webinar. Your name will then be added to a list of registrants who will automatically receive an email containing a link to the recorded webinar.

A collegiate coach for 37 years, Dr. Huber has been the recipient of the Big Ten, NCAA, USA, and USOC National Coach of the Year awards. Huber was named USA National Coach of the Year 12 times and has served as U.S. coach for the Sydney (2000), Athens (2004), and Beijing (2008) Olympic Games.  Dr. Huber is currently Professor of Practice in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Indiana University where he teaches Introductory Psychology and Psychology of Human Performance.  He has also taught Educational Psychology for Teachers and Motor Learning, as well as guest lectured for Theories of High Level Performance, Exercise Science, and Philosophical Foundations of Coaching.
