What is important to basketball coaches in Winnipeg is one of the prizes that we are offering to teams in attendance at the game. This year, we are offering a lucky team the chance to win 3 training sessions at the Effectus Athlete Development training facility in Winnipeg! All Coaches are invited to bring their teams to the game and each team member gets the opportunity to submit their ticket stub to win these training sessions for their team. The more players that come to the game, the more chances your team has to win!

Watch the best in Manitoban basketball played by our best men and women in two exciting games!  Give inner city kids a chance to watch basketball, enjoy a free meal, receive a 2013 version of the Hoops From The Heart T shirt and walk home with their own basketball autographed by one of the players!  Support heart research at St Boniface Hospital! Come to this year’s Hoops From The Heart event at the Duckworth Centre at the University of Winnipeg on Tuesday June 4th and you’ll have all of these opportunities!! It doesn’t get any better than that!

On the evening of Tuesday June 4th, Hoops From The Heart will feature two exciting basketball games at the Duckworth Centre at the University of Winnipeg. In the first game at 6:15 pm, a combined University of Winnipeg/University of Manitoba men’s team will play against an All Star team made up of Manitoban players who play in other Universities and Colleges throughout Canada and the US. In the second game at 7:30 pm, the University of Winnipeg women’s team will play their traditional cross town rivals, the University of Manitoba women’s team. In each game, fans may see the latest high school recruits playing for the first time in CIS competition! The games are always high intensity and each year bring high flying dunks and fast paced action! This is our fifth big year of Hoops From The Heart.

As usual, proceeds from the game go to help inner city kids and heart research at St Boniface Hospital. This year, we are also offering a lucky team the chance to win 3 training sessions at the Effectus Athlete Development training facility in Winnipeg! Coaches: Bring your team to the game and each member gets the opportunity to submit a ticket to win these training sessions for their team. The more players that come to the game, the more chances your team has to win!

Costs just a tooney for students to attend the games and $5 for adults! A steal of a deal and everyone benefits!! See you at the University of Winnipeg on Tuesday June 4th!!

At 6:00 pm in the Duckworth Centre gym at the University of Winnipeg, a combined University of Manitoba and University of Winnipeg men’s team will play off against an All Star team of Manitoba players who currently play for other College and University teams. In the past, we have had players representing the University of Saskatchewan, Fraser Valley U, Thompson Rivers University, University of Waterloo, Brandon University, University of Alberta, American Colleges, CMU and Red River College to name just a few playing against the established stars and latest recruits to the U of Manitoba and the U of Winnipeg! Following this game at 7:30 pm is another feature.  A traditional high intensity match up between the University of Winnipeg Women’s team versus the University of Manitoba Women’s team. See the featured stars of these teams and the latest recruits from high school play their first real test together in a highly competitive and exciting game! All to benefit inner city kids through “Basketballs for Inner City Kids” and heart research at St Boniface Hospital. Help out inner city kids and contribute to heart saving research while at the same time enjoying the best basketball played in Manitoba.

Win a Steve Nash autographed basketball or an official Andreas Bargnani autographed Toronto Raptors team jersey at the game!

BE THERE! TUESDAY JUNE 4TH AT 6:00 PM AT THE U OF WINNiPEG’S DUCKWORTH CENTRE FOR THE BEST IN MANITOBAN BASKETBALL.

Once again, our goal is to promote basketball, help inner city kids out and make an impact on the leading cause of death today: heart disease. All in one fun evening!
