Position Summary:


The Head Coach of Men’s Basketball is responsible for initiating various aspects of the CMU Men’s Basketball program, including but not limited to coaching the Men’s Varsity Basketball team.






Essential Responsibilities:



  1. Coach, train and mentor the CMU Men’s Basketball team members

  2. Organize and lead a program (3-4 times a week) that seeks to develop and prepare student-athletes for competitive collegiate level play through practices, strength and conditioning programs, and competitions.

  3. Assist in the development of the CMU Men’s Basketball program – participating in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes.

  4. Organize and schedule all team practices and recruitment camps in cooperation with the CMU departments of Athletics and Facilities.

  5. Represent Canadian Mennonite University with integrity and professionalism.

  6. Support CMU's mission, purpose and programs.




Qualifications:


An undergraduate degree is preferred with familiarity and experience in coaching or playing for a university or college basketball program. Preference will be given to applicants with a minimum certification of NCCP Level 2 or equivalent experience coaching at the elite club or high school level.






Salary:


The head coach of Men’s Basketball is $4000-$5000/year (dependant on experience and qualifications) contract position and reports to CMU’s Director of Athletics.
