Brandon University is a leader in providing high quality education to over 3,500 full-and part-time students in arts, sciences, education, music, and health studies. Based in southwestern Manitoba, Brandon University also offers pre-professional and Masters programs, as well as innovative and award-winning outreach programs in a personalized learning environment.






Duties:


 


Applications are invited for a tenure-track or continuing position as the Women’s Basketball Head Coach. The Head Coach leads the organization and administration of the women’s Basketball program along with the recruitment and training of student-athletes. The Head Coach also assumes other responsibilities including a key role in the promotion of the program, fundraising, alumni relations and community development. Depending upon qualifications, the incumbent will be assigned teaching or other professional responsibilities/administrative duties.






Qualifications:



  • Academic qualifications are, a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred;

  • Level III NCCP Certification in Basketball required;

  • Strong leadership and communication skills;

  • Experience in recruitment and fundraising would be an asset;

  • Strong organizational skills to manage all program components;

  • Demonstrated skills/ability in problem solving and exercising good judgment, taking initiative, as well as maintaining tact and composure in a highly competitive environment;

  • Relevant teaching experience would be an asset;

  • Experience at the college, university or professional level would be an asset;

  • Ability to liaise with other University departments and services.




Application Deadline: January 6, 2012 or until position is filled.






Start Date: April 1, 2012 or upon availability of successful candidate.






Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
