The CMU men’s basketball team is pleased to announce the commitment of Sean Baergen of Edmonton’s Harry Ainlay High School. The 6’6 post helped the Titans to a 2011 City High School Championship and a fourth-place finish at the Alberta Provincial “AAAA” Boys Championships in his graduating year. He was later nominated for the top-male athlete award at the prestigious Edmonton-based high school that has become recognized for developing many elite Canadian college and university athletes. In his graduating year, Baergen contributed 10 points and 9 rebounds per game and was called on often by his coach to bring energy and effort on the defensive end of the floor.
“Sean brings us great size and hustle in the front-court,” commented CMU head coach Darcy Coss, “We are definitely excited to see him team up with last year’s stand-out big man, Wyatt Anders, to solidify our front line.”
Though basketball has become his first-choice, Baergen also played varsity volleyball and handball at Harry Ainlay.
