The University of Winnipeg College Wesmen have announced it will host its first Pre-Season Basketball Skills Camp for both males and females.  The camp is set for Friday September 24 to Sunday September 26 and will run at the University of Winnipeg Duckworth Centre and is targeting both Junior High and High School aged players. Camp Objectives


  • Five professional secrets to becoming a complete player

  • Developing your weak hand

  • Specialized foul shooting

  • Post play for everyone

  • Perimeter shooting (shooting off the dribble)

  • Improving the lost art of passing

  • Individual defensive and rebounding technique


Guest Coaches

  • Norm Froemel - All-time leading Wesmen rebounder, CIS All-Canadian, played eight years professionally in Germany, (Division 1)

  • Srdjan Komlonevic - Played six years professionally in Serbia

  • Grant Richter - Coached Winnipeg Cyclone professional (four years), Coached with Darryl Dawkins NBA legend (aka Chocolate Thunder)


Junior High Session (14 hours)


  • Friday, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

  • Saturday, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

  • Sunday, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.



High School Session (14 hours)



  • Friday, 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.

  • Saturday, 4:00 - 9:00 p.m.

  • Sunday, 2:00 - 6:00 p.m.


Camp Cost:

  • $75.00 includes follow up session on October 22, 2010 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
