CP Tryouts and 17U Girls Provincial Team Tryouts Set for This Weekend

Basketball Manitoba is pleased to announce details on our High Performance plans for the upcoming fall and winter!  The Canada Basketball Center for Performance Program is designed to bring together male and female basketball athletes aged 12-17 who have the desired attributes and potential to develop into an elite level athlete. The tryouts for the Centre for Performance programs for 12-17 boys and 12-16 girls along with a new pilot program for the 17U Girls Provincial Team will run September 10-12, 2010 at Red River College, North Gym (2055 Notre Dame Ave.) in Winnipeg (exact times below). The programs will follow with regular training sessions from October to April. The program will be paused from December to March  to accommodate for the school basketball season.  Important Note: The 17U Girls Provincial Team Tryouts will occur at the same time as the Centre for Performance tryouts on September 10-12 at Red River College.  Those interested in trying out for both programs, are asked to attend the first 17U Provincial Team tryouts on the Friday evening.  Those not chosen for the 17U team will be asked to return to the regular CP tryouts over the next few days of the tryouts. Players can only participate on one program at a time.

2010-11 Centre for Performance Open Tryouts (Boys ages 12-17 and Girls ages 12-16) and 17U Girls Provincial Team Tryouts

All tryouts will occur in the North Gym at Red River College, 2055 Notre Dame Ave in Winnipeg (AREA MAP).  Use the main doors on the campus off the 'South Staff / Visitors' parking lot.  (CAMPUS MAP)

Tryout Notes: 

• $25.00 tryout fee (cash or cheque payable to Basketball Manitoba) due at the first tryout.


• All players are to complete the proper tryout form - CP Tryout Form (PDF) - OR - 17U Girls Provincial Team Tryout Form (PDF) either in advance or on-site at the first session.
  
  


• Show up at least 20 minutes before the first session to register.


• No preregistration required


• Basketballs will be provided at all sessions.


• Players are to come dressed ready to play!
  
  


• 17U Girls: Initial decisions will be made after the second session with a smaller number of people invited to attend the last session.


• CP Sessions: Players will be asked to come to both of the above sessions.


• The 17U Boys and 15U Boys / Girls Provincial Team Program will host its tryouts in April 2011.
